Responsibilities associated with this position are typically performed in an office setting or designated administrative area and may require visits to additional company facilities out-of-state. Daily movement through industrial and manufacturing areas is required.

Summary of position:

The Quality Assurance Manager identifies the appropriate quality standards of products, develops methods and techniques for quality testing, and oversees the execution of quality assurance testing methods. This job description indicates the general nature and level of the work that is expected. Main responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities

• Reviews documentation acceptance or rejection records, test results, and inspection data and compares findings with specifications to ensure conformance of quality standards
• Reads work orders and interprets blueprints, sample data, and product specifications to develop appropriate quality standards, inspection criteria, and effective testing methods
• Plans work schedules, assignments, and inspection sequences that will ensure production goals are met
• Submits reports of inspections, test findings, and production results to management for review
• Calculates labor, equipment requirements, and production specifications using standard formulas
• Supervises, directs, and coordinates the inspection and testing activity of department personnel
• Dispositions nonconforming products and determines whether they should be used, reworked, returned, or scrapped
• Develops corrective action procedures and submits recommendations to correct product nonconformances and ensure specified quality standards are met
• Observes and monitors production and inspection operations to ensure proper assembly of parts, use of equipment and machinery, and appropriate testing methods
• Lead, challenge and mentor employees
• Confers with management, supervisors, and subordinates to coordinate operations between departments; resolves problems or complaints that arise
• Recommends methods for improved utilization of personnel, material, and utilities
• Coordinates quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost
• Confers with suppliers, staff, and management regarding purchases, inspection results, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, project status and Quality system requirements.
• Interfaces with customers and regulatory agencies regarding quality related issues and/or requirements as defined in the role definition matrix.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma
• Five years of quality assurance and inspection experience
• Efficient use of computer based software systems such as MS Office, Oracle, and Gauge Recall III
• Familiarity and understanding of geometric and dimensional tolerancing
