Summary of position:
The HR Counsellor provides support and coordination with the Human Resource Business Partner in all areas. In particular, the HR Counsellor oversees labor work, health and safety, recruiting, talent management, compensation and performance management for the Scarborough area.

The successful candidate will sit in Scarborough which is a facility specializes in machining and assembly of complex precision parts, structural components and electrical chassis with integral heat exchangers. The plant employs 60 non-unionized employees.
-Fosters a positive employee/labor relations environment within the organization in order to instill a good working climate;
-Develops and executes reporting with a view to implement continuous process improvement strategies in order to further organizational goals;
-Manages and coordinates the Health and Safety activities in his area to support line management;
-Assists as needed with investigation and reporting of workplace incidents and/or accidents and all employee relation issues;
-Coordinates and supervises all work related activities relating to recruiting, performance management, employee relations, training and development;
-Coordinates and supports the annual review process, in conjunction with managing and monitoring corrective action and performance improvement plan processes;
-Supports talent management initiatives including development plans, goal setting, facilitation of programs;
-Assists the Manager with tracking of all HR information, provides analytics support, collecting data and preparing reports as required for presentations and special projects as assigned.
-Bachelor’s degree, in HR or related field;
-5 to 10 years of progressive and global HR experience, including exposure to manufacturing;
-Advanced knowledge of local, provincial and federal employment laws and regulations;
High proficiency level working in MS Office Suite, and HRIS software;
-A track record of success as a collaborative and motivated leader who has supported Labor
-Relations and ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with all stakeholders;
-Ability to effectively work in situations involving significant change, and manage multiple and competing priorities;
-Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral, and cross-cultural awareness;
-Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and take initiative and ownership for a wide range of responsibilities;
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills, detail oriented.
